The agreement between you and CVSet when you buy and use a pass.
Last updated: 9 August 2026
These terms apply to every pass bought through cvset.io.
1. Who we are
CVSet is built and run by a two-person team based in London, United Kingdom. We are not yet incorporated as a registered company. If that changes, we will update this page.
You can reach us through the contact page at cvset.io/contact, or by email at [email protected]. We reply within 2 working days.
2. These terms
These terms govern your use of CVSet. By creating an account or buying a pass, you agree to them.
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you before it takes effect. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published on this page at the time you bought your pass.
3. Your account
You need an account to use CVSet. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — you are responsible for what happens on your account.
You must be 16 or over to use CVSet.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account does not by itself refund an active pass. Refunds are covered in section 6.
4. Passes and payment
CVSet is sold as time-limited passes. There are two: a 7-day pass and a 30-day pass.
Passes do not renew. There is no subscription, no recurring charge and nothing to cancel. When a pass ends, access to paid features stops and you are not charged again.
Each pass includes a credit allowance. AI actions cost credits — a full CV analysis costs more than a single suggestion — and the allowance for each pass, along with the cost of each action, is shown on the pricing page. When your credits run out the pass continues until its end date, and you can buy another pass at any time. Downloading a CV or cover letter you have already produced costs nothing and keeps working after your pass ends.
Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as merchant of record for your purchase and is responsible for charging any applicable VAT. We do not store your card details.
Prices are shown in your local currency where we support it, and in US dollars otherwise. All prices include VAT or sales tax where it applies. The exact amount and currency are confirmed at checkout.
5. What CVSet does
CVSet analyses, optimises and tailors the CV you give it. It works only from the experience you provide. It does not invent employers, dates, qualifications, skills or achievements.
CVSet does not guarantee any outcome. We do not promise interviews, callbacks, shortlisting or job offers, and nothing on this site should be read as such a promise. Hiring decisions are made by employers and are outside our control.
Scores, suggestions and match percentages are our assessment of your CV. They are not an objective measure and not a prediction.
You are responsible for checking your CV before you send it to anyone.
6. Refunds
We will put it right if CVSet does not do what it should.
Refund requests are made through the contact page, under “Billing and refunds”. Tell us what went wrong. This helps us review the request properly and fix the problem for everyone else.
You can request a refund within 14 days of your purchase date. Requests made after that fall outside this policy.
Credits you have spent on work that ran correctly are not refundable. CVSet is an AI tool — its suggestions are yours to accept or reject, and disagreeing with a suggestion is not a fault. What we refund is a failure on our side: a run that errors, produces nothing usable, or returns a result that is plainly wrong for the CV and job you gave it.
We review every request individually and reply within 2 working days. Where we approve a refund, you can choose between money back to your original payment method or credits — both are offered equally.
Refunds are returned to the payment method you used. Your bank may take a few days to show it.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights — including the cancellation right described in section 7, and your rights if the service is faulty or not as described.
7. Cancelling within 14 days
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase made online and get your money back.
A pass gives you immediate access to digital content. At checkout you are asked to agree that we begin supplying it straight away, and to acknowledge that you lose the 14-day cancellation right once we do. If you give that agreement, that right no longer applies to that purchase.
If you did not agree to immediate access, or we have not yet started supplying, you can cancel within 14 days by contacting us.
Our refund policy in section 6 sits alongside this right. It does not replace it.
8. Acceptable use
Do not upload content you do not have the right to use.
Do not upload another person’s personal data without their permission.
Do not try to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service.
Do not resell or share your pass. A pass is for one person.
Do not use CVSet to create false or misleading claims about your experience. CVSet is built to present real experience well, and using it otherwise is a breach of these terms.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload — your CV, the job descriptions you paste, and any files you attach to a message.
You give us a limited licence to store and process that content so we can provide the service to you. That licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.
Your CV is never used to train or improve AI models — not ours, and not our providers'. Microsoft does not train its models on content sent to the Azure OpenAI Service.
How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
10. Our content
The CVSet software, design, scoring approach, wording and branding belong to us or our licensors.
The CVs and other outputs you create are yours to use for your own job search, without restriction. You may not resell or redistribute the service itself.
11. Availability and changes
We aim to keep CVSet available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need to suspend it for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
We may change or remove features. Where a change materially reduces what your active pass gives you, we will tell you and offer a fair remedy.
CVSet depends on third-party services, including AI providers. If one of those is unavailable, parts of CVSet may be unavailable too.
12. Our liability to you
We do not exclude or limit our liability where the law does not allow us to — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
CVSet is a tool that helps you present your experience. We are not liable for hiring outcomes, for decisions made by employers, or for anything you choose to send to an employer.
Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the pass in question.
13. Ending your access
You can stop using CVSet and delete your account at any time from Settings.
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, particularly the acceptable use rules in section 8. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.
If we end your access for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of your pass.
14. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, tell us through the contact page. We reply within 2 working days and we will try to resolve it directly.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a complaint, you can contact your local Trading Standards service through the Citizens Advice consumer helpline.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, and if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
