Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile. On Claude’s Free plan, you can add one custom connector.

  1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
  2. Select + Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it CVSet, paste the URL above and select Continue. Check the sign-in settings and select Continue again.
  4. Keep OAuth client set to Use Claude’s published identity (Recommended), then select Add.
  5. When Claude asks, sign in to CVSet and select Approve.
  6. In a chat, select +, then Connectors, and turn on CVSet.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds CVSet first, in Organization settings → Connectors. Then each person selects Connect next to it.

Works in ChatGPT on the web. Whether you can add custom MCP servers depends on your plan and, at work, on your admin.

  1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins. Select +, then Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it CVSet. Paste the URL above as the Server URL and choose OAuth.
  3. Read the warning. Select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
  4. Install the plugin. When ChatGPT asks, sign in to CVSet and select Approve.
  5. In a chat, type @ and choose CVSet.

ChatGPT’s menus change from time to time. If you can’t find Plugins, look for Developer mode in ChatGPT’s settings.

Credits, limits and your data

  • Same credits, same prices

    Scoring a CV costs 3 credits, tailoring 2, the application pack 1 and a learning plan 1. Everything else is free.

  • Nothing is bought in the chat

    If you need a pass or more credits, your assistant gives you the link to buy one on cvset.io.

  • Some work takes a minute or two

    Scoring and tailoring run in the background, and your assistant checks back until they finish. If a job fails, you are not charged.

  • Download links expire

    A file link works for 15 minutes. Ask your assistant for a new one.

  • Your CV goes in as text

    Your assistant sends CVSet your CV’s text, so the layout checks (columns, tables, headers) are skipped. To check the file itself, upload it on cvset.io.

  • What your assistant’s provider sees

    What you ask your assistant to read goes to the company that runs it, under their terms.

Questions about AI assistants

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants work with other apps. CVSet’s MCP server lets your assistant use your CVSet account, with your permission.

Do I need a paid plan?

No. A free account can score one CV and see matched roles. Tailoring, the application pack, tracking and learning need a pass, as they do on the site.

Does it cost extra?

No. It uses the same pass and credits at the same prices. Scoring a CV costs 3 credits, tailoring 2, the application pack 1 and a learning plan 1. Everything else is free.

Which assistants work?

Claude (web, desktop and mobile) and ChatGPT. Other apps that connect to remote MCP servers with sign-in should work, but we haven’t tested them. Cursor can’t connect yet.

Can my assistant spend credits without asking?

CVSet tells every assistant to ask you before it uses a paid tool, and many assistants ask you to confirm actions too. Your assistant can never buy a pass.

Is my score the same as on the site?

Yes. Your assistant asks CVSet for the score, and CVSet uses the same rules. One difference: text from a chat has no layout, so the layout checks are skipped.

Why does my assistant say a job is still running?

Scoring and tailoring take 1–2 minutes. Your assistant checks back about every 20 seconds. If it stops checking, ask it to check the job again.

My download link doesn’t work. What now?

Download links work for 15 minutes. Ask your assistant for a new one.

How do I disconnect?

Remove CVSet in your assistant’s settings. Deleting your CVSet account also disconnects every assistant.
